General Information - The Kirkby Malhamdale Parish Council is a Grouped Parish Council consisting of the Parishes of Hanlith, Kirkby Malham, Malham and Malham Moor. It meets on the first Monday in each month except when there is a Bank Holiday and then it is the second Monday in Malham Village Hall from 8pm.

Airton Friends Meeting House

GR 904592, Airton Quaker Meeting house was built in 1700 by William Ellis and the adjoining hostel was originally a stable for the Quakers attending the meetings. The stable was converted into a wartime evacuee hostel in 1940 and used as a holiday hostel from 1943 with a modernisation in 1983. The meeting house is still used for worship every third Sunday. The hostel has a self-catering kitchen/common area, and three rooms of 6,4,2 bunks. Blankets and pillow are provided but you must bring your own sleeping bag. Parties of children (except families) must be accompanied by two adults.

Local Clubs and Societies

Malhamdale Initiative a local action group for the promotion and improvement of Malhamdale, Vital Villages Parish Plan, Malhamdale Local Plan, Renewable Energy, Local Housing Project, Business Collaberation, Recreation, etc.

Malhamdale Local History Group a local history Group for the Malhamdale area. Regular monthly meetings and visits are held, usually on the evening of the third Thursday of the month. The website Kirkby Malham Info is a local history information site for the Parish of Kirkby Malham, Malhamdale and surrounding area.

Kirkby Malham Bellringers meet for practice on Tuesday evenings and are members of the Yorkshire Association of Change Ringers (YACR).

Malhamdale Cricket Club small friendly Cricket Club, playing evening 20 over games usually on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer.
